Pet Partners of the Oregon Coast (formerly known as Oregon Coast Therapy Animals) began on the grounds of a horse stable in Seal Rock Oregon in June 2004. Seven individuals with a desire to incorporate their animals in being of service to their community met to form a group to do just that. Two were registered Pet Partner (formerly known as Delta Society) teams and were looking for a local forum for visiting facilities with their therapy animals.
Pet Partners of the Oregon Coast is a Community Partner with Pet Partners which has continued to grow and add Pet Partner teams. Training/ Support meetings are provided to our teams to prepare them for their first Pet Partner Evaluation and renewing Registrations (every 2 years). We also help our registered Pet Partner teams with locating a facility appropriate to the skills and interests of the handler and animal. We make sure the facilities are safe and meet the standards required by Pet Partners.
Pet Partners of the Oregon Coast is dedicated to bringing comfort and healing to those in need through the miracle of the human-animal bond.
We specialize in preparing and supervising skilled handler/animal teams who work closely with the professional staff of care-giving facilities sponsoring animal-assisted therapy (AAT) and animal assisted activity (AAA) programs.
