Pet Partners of the Oregon Coast (PPOC), a locally based, non-profit animal-assisted therapy (AAT) organization, currently provides services to care-giving facilities along the Oregon Coast and Corvallis area. We specialize in training and supervising handler/animal teams who work closely with the professional staff of various agencies who wish to sponsor animal-assisted therapy (AAT) and animal-assisted activity (AAA) programs at their facilities. All of our volunteer handlers and their animal partners are registered by Pet Partners, an internationally respected resource dedicated to promoting the human-animal bond. All PPOC handlers are trained to work with adults, children, and families who have emotional and physical challenges. In addition to the training and evaluation process which all volunteer teams undergo before becoming registered, they also carry extensive liability coverage while on their volunteer assignments. Our services are provided free of charge to the agencies we partner with.

Pet Partners of the Oregon Coast (PPOC) is a Community Partner of Pet Partners. PPOC is recognized as a leader among therapy animal teams across the country, ensuring the highest standards for volunteers and participating in a collaborative relationship with the Pet Partners staff.
As a member of PPOC, you will be invited to participate in our monthly ZOOM meetings for training and support topics. In addition to our ZOOM meetings, we meet in person to review and practice the handler & animal team evaluation skills. You will also receive our guidance throughout your Pet Partners Team Registration process and assist you with selecting the perfect facility for you and your animal to start volunteering.
